Is writing your own computer assignment the best practice?
I found that writing code myself helped me understand programming concepts much better. While working on coursework, I considered write my computer assignments, but decided to work through the difficult sections independently first. Making mistakes and fixing them gave me practical experience that reading finished solutions could not provide. I also became more confident when approaching unfamiliar problems. Do you think students learn more when they have to create their own solutions from scratch?
